Cute Snowmen Cookies

It is hot outside. Looking at these cute snowmen cookies is reminding me to be happy it is summer.  My sister and I made these last Christmas as part of a cookies for Santa gift for friends and neighbors.  Sometimes it takes a few tries to get a cookie just right.  I think the cookie on the far right is my favorite.  When making Christmas cookies make the dark colors several days in advance to limit the amount of food dye used.  For more information on making decorated sugar cookies here is the sugar cookie recipe I used and also the recipe for royal icing used to decorate these cute snowmen cookies.
